Mary DUNNOCK (b. OH circa 1834)
Daughter of: I believe Mary to be the daughter of Luke and Elizabeth (Swope) DUNNUCK. Luke's descendancy chart Luke and Elizabeth had a daughter, Mary, who was a minor when her parents died in 1845 & 1846. Her brother Newton came to Illinois with members of Thomas' family.
listed in 1850 Sangamon Co., IL census as Mary "Dumock", age 16, born in OH living with Ruth DUNNUCK and Ruth's husband Abraham CROSS. Mary, who was born in OH would have been b. about 1834. She appears to still be in the Cross household in 1855 (Census lists 3 adults). Ruth's brothers were all wed after 1834.
Just to confuse Of interest: Mary's brother Newton b. 1830/31 was indentured (in OH 1846) to a David Davis who was born ca 1802 in PA. In the Sangamon County, IL census of 1860, a Mary Davis b. VA, age 48 is living with the Ruth (Dunnuck) Cross family, as is Ruth's niece, Betsy King; but Mary Dunnuck is missing. Then a Ruth Dunnuck, b. IL about 1859, daughter of Elisha & Mary (King) Dunnuck, married a David Mills Davis, who was born in. IL in 1856. They wed in Kansas in 1885. David and Ruth named a daughter Mary. Wonder if there is a Davis connection between all these?

Mary DUMOCK
A Mary Dumock lived with the CROSS family - her age was listed as 16 - Who are the parents of this 16 year old? b. ca 1834 I believe this to be the daughter of LUKE. Her brother NEWTON is also in the area with another from Thomas' family
Source: (1850 Sangamon Co. IL census)
I believe her to be the orphaned daughter of LUKE. But she also might be the daughter of Joshua and Margarett.who also lived at the time in Sangamon Co., IL. Their daughter Mary is said to have died young ??....and I have never found a record of her. If she is Joshua's, Ruth (Dunn*ck) CROSS is her aunt. If she is Luke's, they are cousins.

Their parents died by 1845 and they were indentured in Pickaway Co. OH in January of 1947. Newton came to IL in around 1850 with his Uncle Joshua Dunnuck. See Mary below (RED)

Mary Jane DUNNUCK (Twin)
d/o John W. and Henrietta (SCOTT) DUNNUCK
  b. (b. August 17 per Obit) b. August 27, 1839, Kosciusko Co., IN- per bible pages
(but SEE birth data on HER TWIN SISTER Phebe)
  d. The tombstone dates for Mary J. are 1839 - 1912
Newspaper has: August 17, 1839 - Oct. 22, 1912, age 73 y, 1 m, 15 d., but the Newspaper was dated Oct. 17 !

But, her twin sister's obituary gives her birth date as August 18th. (That's possible)

Dunnuck Family Bible has b. Aug. 27, 1839 for both Mary and Phebe. The handwriting would lead me to believe the children's births were all recorded at one time by one person, (I believe by Henrietta) sometime after 1861 since all the children's births are listed, including Lyman in 1861.

Twin Phebe's tombstone has d. 2 March 1915, Burket, IN (75 years 6 months 14 days.) This would place her birth as August 18,1838.

Phebe's obit lists her birth as August 18, 1839, died 2 March 1915, age 75y, 6m, 14d. This fits. So I believe Mary was also born the 17 or 18th.
