P.I. (Peter Isaac) McEchron* was born at West Hebron, New York, and departed this life October 21, 1936 at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 5 days. He was the youngest son of James and Sarah McEachron. He came to Kansas in 1870. On September 7, 1875 he was maried to Mary Ellen Dunneck, to whom six children were born;
James N. (deceased),
William E. Speed Kansas,
Mrs. J. Wetterau, Princeton, (J = John)
Mrs. S. E. Sproul Hutchinson,
Mrs. Mary Whipple, Richmond, and
John R. Princeton.
He also leaves seventeen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.


He moved from the farm in Richmond in 1914, where his wife died in 1917. He united with the U.P. church at West Hebron, New York when 16 years of age, and was a charter membe of the U.P. church of Richmond. Mr. McEchron came to Richmond in 1870, and fenced and improved what is know in Kansas as the McEchron Farm. From this farm he fenced and otherwise improved 1600 acres of land in Ohio and Richmond township. (....talks about livestock)

The community was saddened by the death of Mr. P. I. McEchron
of Richmond, who passed away Wednesday morning at the home of
one of his daughters, Mrs. Mary Whipple. Mr. McEchron has been
in poor health for a long time. He is the father of Mr. John
Wettereau of Princeton. This community extends their deepest
sympathy to the bereaved family
