  Tunis and Francina's son Jonathon was born Nov. 11 1795 in Hampshire Co. VA. and died Feb. 29, 1888. Jonathon and his first wife, Martha Thompson married in 1817. Martha, (1798-1844) was the mother of 12 children. William Gilmore Peters was born May 3, 1820 and became the husband of Catherine DUNNICK  
     
  At least four of Tunis' children wed Ashbrook's. One, Permelia Peters, wed William Ashbrook. Permelia (Peters) and William Ashbrook had a son Absolom Ashbrook. Absolom wed Pheobe DUNNICK, sister to Catherine DUNNICK wife of William Gilmore PETERS

Tunis PETERS b. Oct 26, 1749 in N.J. d. Sept 24, 1826 Fairfield Co OH Tunis appears in records in Hampshire Co., VA (now WV) between 1795 and 1817. He was sheriff of Hampshire Co. VA 1815-1817. In the fall of 1817 they migrated to Pickaway and later Hocking counties in Ohio
Francina ADAMS before 1877 when there first child was born.. (b. August 18, 1758 and d. May 3, 1839. Tunis and Francina had at least 13 children

"daughter of John Thompson who came from Ireland age 16 y as a stowaway and upon his arrival to Baltimore, MD, was sold for this transportation." the Peters book by Lutz page 362

Jonathon & Martha had 12 children, Sarah, Samuel, William, Juliann (b. 1824 - Mrs. George Leach), Emily, Abigail, Corinna, Harriet, Susan, Edward, Laura, and Martha.

After Martha death Jonathon married Mrs. Rebecca (___) Harmon in March 5, 1846. The Peters book lists her death date as Feb. 29, 1888, the same as Jonath*n. Jonathon and Rebecca had two children Parthena and Jonathan.

"They moved from Hampshire Co VA to Pickaway Co. Ohio about 1816, later removed to Fairfield C., Ohio,. He was a teacher 4/30/1822 near Millsport,....then moved in 1823 to near Logan, OH. In 1848 he removed from Hocking Co. and settled thre miles east of Pleasantville, Fairfield Co., Ohio. Most of the original farm later owned by Ira Peters." This quote from the Peters book . Lutz lists as her reference the work of Mrs. Laverne (Mast) Fullmer and Wendell Friend.
