The Will of

SARAH DUNNUCK

"Found in Grandmama's Bible after she died in January 1943"

written by Ruby Nusbaum her daughter.

Dated: July 14, 1942

My Dear Girls, Pearl and Ruby,

I am not well, and never well be again, and it won't be long until I will leave you t--- my life spent with you will be a memory. I have something I want to ask you to please do for me, when you divide or dispose of what little I have.

I want Roger to have all of my bedding, and my watch what papa gave me. I have helped your girls, Sara and Frances, all to bedding so that you all have plenty, but I have never done anything for him. He may not want it all, as some of it is not new any more. Give him all or whatever he likes of it, and his pillows. This is all, the rest you can divide among yourselves. I do this in all kindness, and feel it is right. I should do something for him. He is a near as the girls Sara and Frances are to me, and I never expecte to see him again, and my heart is broke over it for only the Lord knows how dearly I love you all, and pray what we may be one unbroken family in Heaven.

Mama

(note: Dad, the Roger in the above was in Panama and WWII was in progress)
