Dennis DUNNOCK (LORE) (lots of unanswered questions here) This needs MUCH research.
DANGER - CAREFUL - this is only seed information
Son of Donnack DENNIS and his wife. Donnack was born 1645
Galway, IRELAND d. 1716 Somerset Co. MD records conflict as to who the wife is. Ellice (NEHULIAN) and or Elizabeth (LYTTLETON) or perhaps 1st & 2nd wifes. He appears to have wed both women in Northampton, VA (in 1861 & 1868) The children listed are roughly the same, b. between 1665 -1885. There is also an Elizabeth BODKIN wed in 1696 to Donnack DENNIS. Donnack came to this country before 1861 with his parents. His Father John Dennis b. 1616 in England and died in Summerset Co. MD in 1665. |
||
b. Feb. 16, 1668 in Somerset, MD s/o Donnack & Ellice
d. 1741 Somerset, MD | ||
All of Dennis DUNNOCK's siblings and step-siblings kept DENNIS as a surname. Only Dennis took the DUNNOCK surname. Yet, another source has him listed as Dunnock DENNIS.
A Dunnock DENNIS is on the tax Assessment list at Somerset Co. MD - 1783
Another unrelated source has a John DENNIS from Pointiers France going to Scotland where he wed a Mary DUNNOCK. They are said to be the parents of John Dunnock Dennis who settled on the MD East Shore. J.D. Dennis m. Ann Teackle.
